so stumped, can't even come up with a title

Gosh WB. Did you try the leaves or gutters thing? Some of the gardeners I know are even hanging christmas lights for people.
I understand how you are feeling. I have my job until the end of December but have not been able to find anything else as yet... and it just looks worse and worse for prospects. Just take care of ourself. And remember it is not your fault, not your choice, and plenty of other people are sufering too.
I'm beating the bushes just like you are....I've had job postings forwarded to me by recruiters only to be told in the same day or the next that they jobs are already filled.

One place did call me back and said they might have something after the first of the year.

Take care.

I have also asked everyone I know to keep their ears open for any job tips to pass on...
@jax - not yet, i've been slamming the pavement to find something in that final push before the holidays begin (and jobs become even scarcer). not looking promising so gonna print up flyers and distribute door-to-door in the leaves-strewn neighborhood.
@Flamingo Dancer - I wish you oodles and oodles of luck. I don't want to be discouraging -- and of course some locations are doing "better" than others -- but it is damn hard out there (unless you're in a recession-proof or high-demand industry), I've never in my lifetime seen it like this. Will you be able to collect unemployment?
@Beeeze - "might" have something ... after the first of the year? wtf?! a lotta good that does. myself, i sure as heck wouldn't hold my breath -- i'm sure you're not -- we're entering into the slowest hiring season (and that's in a good economy! imagine what it'll be like this year!). i am thinking ahead for you and myself and the others i know who are unemployed not by choice and so must ask: will you be ok till spring?
I like the just because photos. You still have your sense of humor. That goes a long ways in the fight for a job and the cursed dental dilemmas.
@LOIL - thanks. i'm doing that as well, asking managers and employees where i put in applications whether they know anyone who's hiring.
I can't even thing about that.....It's too scary. I have to keep working at it until I get something.
@SusanMac - "sardonicity" is a salve. ;p
it is nuts how hard you have been working and will continue to work to find work!
@LOIL - if the jobs aren't there, the jobs aren't there and no efforts will resurrect 'em from the graveyard and so many are facing that too.
